With a mortar screen already set in the factory, DELTA®-Dry Stucco and Stone is a ventilated rainscreen that uses less scratch coat mortar. DELTA®-Dry Stucco and Stone provides the best protection behind attached manufactured stone veneer and traditional stucco because of air-gaps on both the inner and exterior side of the membrane.
Moisture can build up in the space between a building’s siding and water-resistant barrier if there is inadequate ventilation and drainage. The cladding and the building are separated by a rainscreen, which facilitates moisture evaporation and drainage. For stone and stucco claddings, specific moisture control is needed. The risk of solar-driven moisture is increased by absorbent claddings, raising the possibility of water damage to wood substrates. These trouble spots can be dried out by isolation and drainage made possible by a well-installed rainscreen.
