How to Install HOLLANDSTONE Pavers
Follow these steps for a strong, stable, and beautiful result:
1. Prepare the Base (The Most Important Step!)
For Driveways/Parking Areas:
– Use DriveGrid™ (a stabilization grid) for maximum strength.
– Dig 8-10 inches deep, then add ¾” Crusher Run gravel (packed tightly).
For Patios/Walkways:
– A 6-inch gravel base is usually enough.
2. Add the Bedding Layer
– Spread 1 inch of coarse sand (for standard installations) OR ¼” chip stone (for better drainage).
3. Lay the Pavers
– Place HOLLANDSTONE pavers in your chosen pattern.
– Leave small gaps (1/8 inch) between pavers for sand.
4. Lock Them in Place
– Fill gaps with polymeric sand (best for durability) or regular concrete sand.
– Use a compactor with a rubber pad to settle the pavers gently.
– Secure edges with spike-in plastic/metal restraints or a concrete border.
